High School Talents & Applause for Kvantum
2 min
When it comes to conferences and events focused on cybersecurity, we’re mostly operating in the “adult” sphere by now. But we still keep emphasizing how important we believe it is to focus on educating and training the next generation.
And we do our best to contribute to this effort as much as we can. As part of our long-term partnership with the Secondary School of Computer Science , we organized another lecture —this time on the topic of “The World of Quantum Computers.”
You might be wondering whether “quantum” is even a topic for high school students. And you’ll probably be surprised, but it really is. On the contrary: high school students are the ideal target group for future specialization, because the field is still very new, and when it comes to experts in, say, post-quantum algorithms, we’d count no more than a few dozen. And that’s woefully few. University degree programs are just beginning to emerge, and we know that future graduates will find employment in this field faster than you can say “quantum safe.”
In a comprehensive lecture on how quantum computers and supercomputers work compared to classical ones, the threats associated with breaking encryption, where such encryption is used, and many other interesting facts, our CEO Lumír Srch spoke with this year’s high school seniors throughout the morning of March 20.
We were truly delighted by both the attendance of all ninety fourth-year students and the response to the entire seminar. Such feedback is, of course, not only very gratifying to us, but also invaluable. We believe we truly have a lot to say and share on this topic. And judging by a few genuinely interested questions after the lecture, we may even have sparked enthusiasm in a few students. Even if we helped guide just one of them on their path through this diverse IT landscape, it was worth it.
Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to welcoming third- and fourth-year students for their school internships!
